    2025 take aways

Overall 2025 has been a good year for me … if I ignore the general state of the world and all the geopolitical craziness. We live in a very strange transition period and I hope the new world order emerges sooner rather than later so we can move on from the madness happening right now.I’m naturally optimistic, though it wasn’t always easy during the year. But, as I was saying, if I just block out that side of things, there is a lot I am happy about and proud of about 2025. A Year of Movement: Travel and Gratitude I was lucky to be able to travel a lot. I…

    Working out in the morning

I’ve been trying for years to workout in the morning.Let me rephrase this. I’ve been trying for years to workout – regularly – in the morning.I’ve had some success. One week of early workouts. One month of morning yoga. But the habit never stuck.Very often I failed because I was tired. I’m a strong believer that sleep is one of the most important things in my life, and if my body tells me I need more sleep, then I will sleep one more hour rather than drag myself through an entire day exhausted. But little by little, I’ve made progress toward working out in the morning. My latest achievement happened almost by…

Bringing my balcony back to life

I am lucky to live in an apartment building that has a medium-sized balcony.During winter, I tend to forget about it entirely; it’s too cold and rainy to enjoy it. The only positive about it is that the balcony furniture serves as a view blocker from the street. Now that spring is here and the temperature is rising, I am enjoying leaving the balcony door open for the fresh air and connection to the outside world. As I work from home, this is very important to me. It is time to bring the balcony back to life. The past few years, I’ve enjoyed growing as many veggies and herbs as possible,…

    Working out in the morning

I love working out. It’s one of the key pillar in my life. I can see a big difference on period when I regularly workout and periods that I don’t. I do feel better physically, but to me, the most important part is the mental impact. I feel more relaxed, happier, mentally stronger and proud of myself for prioritizing my well being! I have always been active but like a lot of people, covid made me realize the importance of working out regularly. Ever since, I’ve started being more strategic about it and using workout plans. For the last few years, I’ve been thinking of transitioning my daily workout routine…

Taking the time to fully disconnect

It’s easy to get sucked into work and everyday life. There is always once more project, one more task to finish, one more meeting to setup … and suddenly it’s been more than 6 months (or 2 years) that you have taken a proper time off. Taking the time to disconnect can feel more like a luxury than a necessity—but in reality, it’s crucial for long-term well-being and productivity. To avoid burnout and make sure I get true downtime, I decided to take one week off every quarter and one two-week holiday per year. Breaking up the year this way helps me stay refreshed, even during busy seasons. Planning in…

    The overwhelming process of decluterring

I often look around my apartment and feel like there are a lot of things out of place. I have been force to admit that a lot of things don’t have a set place, a spot, a home in our home. A library book will up on the table and stay there for two weeks, the vitamins are now permanently stored on the book shelf, and my workout gear belongs with the plants in the living room. It’s not too big of an issue, but it’s far from ideal. I do want to get rid of stuff, make more space for the things I use every day or every week…

Building a Second Brain by Tiago Forte

I have always been scribbling in notebooks. Back at home I have a lot of half filled notebooks that I honestly don’t want to throw out but also don’t really want to keep. Today I have at least 10 different notebooks ready to be used.I got onboard the trend of bullet journals a few years ago and that has been a game changer in term of organization and keeping track of some information. After a few years of using them, I finally found the perfect system that works for me that is really fast to set up and fast to fill out everyday. But bullet journals work well for day…

    Morning Walks

I have been building new habits, slowly, one at a time over the past few years. The effect of those good habits have been very positive and I know that I want to keep those habits for life. I consider them my pillars and are the following: healthy eating, regular work out, and sleep. A lot of sleep. Now that those habits are anchored, I am moving to the next one: going for a walk every day, if possible in the morning. Why? I can stay at home the whole day and that doesn’t bother me. I work from home and spend hours on my work chair without moving much.…
